DMW

1965 DMW Racer

Dawson Motor Works were based out of England and were first built for speedway competition use back in the late 1920’s by Leslie Dawson . In later years, the company expanded and went into production of street and road racing machines which continued into the late 1960’s when  the factory doors were closed for the last time. Dawson was the inventor of the rear swing arm suspension and hydraulic front forks which have become the main staple for all motorcycles in existence today. This example that we have to offer is a circa 1965 DMW Hornet sporting the Villiers “Starmaker” two stroke single cylinder 250cc engine with the remote float bowl Amal carburetor and the DMW hydraulic forks with external damper front suspension.
