1983 Harley Davidson XR1000

This pristine example of Willie G. Davidson’s original factory custom has earned its honorable ranking in the Antique Motorcycle Club of America’s prestigious “Winner’s Circle” with a score of 99.5 points. This classic motorcycle has undergone a complete mechanical refurbishment by Pete Payovich, a top restorer and authority on the XR1000 marque, and a full engine rebuild was completed by Stroud’s Racing. Some of the highlights of the motor rebuild include Jerry Branch high performance intake manifolds matched to Branch flowed heads, new bearings throughout, new set of “E” cams, 10.5-1 high performance XR-1000 pistons, later style lifters, new twin Dellorto 40mm carbs, a Barnett clutch with clutch tamer, Andrews transmission gears, 2-hole Jim’s crank pin, new primary chain, a twenty-three tooth primary sprocket, new Dunlop tires, new front fork springs, extremely rare factory racing exhaust, 3.25 gallon tank, original equipment fork brace and the list goes on. This exceptional motorcycle is considered to be one of the best performing XR’s in existence while still looking like it just rolled off of the factory assembly line. Selling with a clear Illinois title.
